Trenton graduate takes over as MPCC’s Financial Aid Director
A former McCook Community College student and graduate from Trenton High School has been named Mid-Plains Community College Area Financial Aid Director
Dale Brown, has been with Grace University in Omaha since 1999 where he has been Director of Revenue for the past six years.
At Grace University he oversaw the financial aid department and monitored student receivables as well as collecting outstanding debts. His position also included revenue forecasting and budget planning.
“I am looking forward to working with students, faculty and staff at Mid-Plains,” Brown said. “Helping students to achieve their goals for college in an affordable manner is what drives me in this profession.”
Brown takes over for Ted Fellers who resigned last month and was a teacher when Brown attended MCC in 1973 after graduating from high school at Trenton. His wife, Sarah, is a 1974 graduate of MCC. Her father, Ken Gansebom taught music at McCook High School and MCC from 1961-1974. Dale and Sarah were married in 1975 and lived in Omaha until 1984 until moving to Colorado Springs and running their own packaging and shipping store.
They returned to Nebraska in 1993 and Dale graduated with honors from Wayne State College with a Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Management in 1998. He is working on his MBA from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Dale serves as president of the Nebraska Association of Financial Aid Administrators and is the state representative for the Rocky Mountain Association of Financial Aid Administrators. He served on the Applied Business Technology software implementation team for Grace as well as the Informational technology committee.
The Browns have two daughters, Angie Thomas, Maria Zellmer and four grandchildren.
