NPCC Music Department to present concert on Thursday, Oct. 13

 

The North Platte Community College Music Department will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the McDonald-Belton Theater on the South Campus of the college. The concert will feature the college choir and jazz band.

 

The concert is free and open to the public. Those who attend are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Freewill donations will be accepted at the door and will go to the Callahan Cancer Center in North Platte to assist in efforts to fight and prevent this disease. Food gift cards and gas cards will also be gratefully accepted.

 

The choir will sing an array of songs ranging from “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” to “And So It Goes” by Billy Joel. The band will play songs ranging from “Twist and Shout” to “I’ll Be There for You” from the sitcom “Friends.”

 

The choir is directed by Elizabeth Peters, with Gayle Lawson as the accompanist. The band is directed by Donna Pucket.

 

Members of the NPCC Choir are: Sonie Kuhlman of Gothenburg; Bert Ogg of Madrid; Brittany Plock of Maxwell; Charles Kramer of Mullen; Mikayla Brauer, Ellen Duggan-Bailey, Layne Dowhower, Cassie Goentzel, Cassandra Gray, Jeremy Golden, Benjamin Hill, Hannah Hokanson, Jillian Hoover, Jayna Horn, Devon Lehman, Josh Magner, Stacia Nutter, Santana Polanco, Nikki Radke, Kaelee Rudolph, Corey Scott, Jeff Small, Emily Sughroue, Dawn Tallmon, Nicolas Thayer, Shane Weatherly and Katelyn Weller of North Platte; Jessica Goodall of Ogallala; and Victoria Daly, Elizabeth DeCent and Raelynn Foster of Sutherland.

 

Members of the NPCC Jazz Band are: Maia Reitz of Douglas, Ariz.: Bert Ogg of Madrid; Mikayla Brauer, Erik Geilenkirchen, Dawn Donner and Jill Petersen of North Platte; Jess Lenhart of Roscoe; and Victoria Daly of Sutherland.
